A photo workshop is ideal on the grounds of the North Carolina Museum of Art, in Raleigh, North Carolina, where our Photography Instructor offers photo lessons to turn casual snapshots into more compelling photographs. If landscape and waterscape photo ops are your interest, you will be pleased with the sprawling 164 acres of lawn peppered with trees, shaves hedges, wooded trails and sculpted bushes to create a myriad of compositions up close as well as long lens vistas of the earth.

Learn the art of photographing water scapes on the shores of the pond on the site or practice combining nature and man-made structures by pointing your camera lens to include the lawns and trees in adjacency to the contemporary stark white structures of the museum itself, an architectural innovation designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners back in 1983, comprised of two imposing edifices and an adjacent amphitheater.

The 30+ gigantic art installations on the property are photo ops in and of themselves, including Rodin and other noted artists of world fame. Learn the technique of panning to denote movement as bicyclists ride past the way-out, huge trio of circular ironworks embedded in the earth. Capture an environmental portrait of a visitor juxtaposed and dwarfed along side a pair of freakish bunny rabbits, 4 times the height of any human. Take several perspective photos of a bizarre alien looking straw structure or perhaps the triangular rooftop, the only visible portion of a house which seems as it the house itself exists 15 feet below the surface of the earth.

Whether Rule of Thirds is your choice of composition, Leading Lines, Negative Space or many other options, your instructor will discuss, demonstrate and supervise the approach to develop your own signature style of taking photographs, a foundation that will serve your growing passion for all future photo activities, whether a raucous family reunion, a walk in your neighborhood, a special sporting event or a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience.

Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number.  It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering.  If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at DPAbooking@digitalphotoacademy.com or Richard@digitalphotoacademy.com.
