Covid is a global issue and varies, city by city, even day by day, here across North America, but we want you to know that you can enroll in workshops, currently posted through the first few months of 2021 and updated into the year 2021 on a monthly basis. (Founded in 2006, this format of updating new group workshop locales, times and dates have always been handled in this same manner. Should you require a private workshop, our professional photographers who lead group sessions in the community where they live, can accommodate PRIVATE WORKSHOPS on any photo topic and meet up with you and your guests on any day of the week that suits your schedule and locale selected within our active communities.) We can conform to your priorities.

As any workshop you select approaches, please know that we will adhere to the Covid social distancing directives relevant to your local community at that time, as they apply to the coronavirus, allowing you to receive a total refund or the chance to reschedule with no penalty fee no matter how long you require to make your rescheduling decisions. Please contact us toll free, 1 877 372 2231 or email us at DPABooking@DigitalPhotoAcademy.com. Again, once we communicate, we can provide either a full refund or postpone your workshop with no deadline on selecting a new date.

IF WORKSHOP DOES RUN, MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING CONFORMS TO LOCAL DIRECTIVES

Welcome to the Minneapolis market for the international network of live and online photo classes, all under the banner of Digital Photo Academy.

This section is devoted to the Minneapolis community and the DPA Instructors who lead these workshops are professional photographers who have lived in Minneapolis for at least 10 years, usually longer.

These pro shooters also have teaching experience and they love teaching. (Not all photographers do.) They know the local retailers where you can get the better deals on photo equipment and more importantly, they know where the best photo ops are which allows us to provide you with a rotation of interesting places to shoot, throughout the year, whether indoors or outdoors, winter, spring, summer of fall. Sometimes one time of day to shoot is better than another and our DPA instructors keep us informed.

Often, the DPA Instructors even have private access to various locales in the city where they live. Themes vary from street photography and dynamic architecture, to flowers and landscapes, as well as waterscapes, sunsets, lush scenery and everything in between.

During one month, you might be invited to rendezvous in the luxurious natural light streaming in to a religious venue via spectacular stained glass windows and the following month, it might be a small relatively unknown park with very special landscapes. This is why we offer a special ALUMNI Discount to people who attend more than one workshop.

Nationally, we organize these workshops to provide variety for the participants in each local market, but we could not do it without the expertise and connections provided by the DPA instructors in each of those markets.

Phone the national headquarters of Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231 but know that each of the Digital Photo Academy markets includes a local office. In Minneapolis, that office is at:

2995 Trappers Trail, Long Lake MN 55356

“Rick made the best of the rain and showed us how to take pictures in what I would have thought would be bad lighting for us to shoot in. He got is into the Como Conservatory and we skipped the zoo.
And Yes you may use them on Facebook (just tag me if you can).”

“I took the Composition in the Field class at the Como Zoo and Conservatory in Minneapolis. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperating so we were in the conservatory the whole time. Our instructor was Tony S. He was great! Very informative and friendly. I didn’t feel like a complete newbie asking him questions.

I’ve attached a few of my favorites from my session. It’s apparent my next lens should be a macro.”

“I am in the early part of my photography career. I hoped to meet with an experienced photographer and review my questions in this course. My hope was exceeded in every way. I was able to spend quality time with two very fine and talented experts. The day was exciting and informative– I gained insights of immediate and long term value. Tony and Mike are truly role models.

My pre-course goals were all achieved– and a fundamental misunderstanding about how to use my camera light meter was uncovered and corrected. I also accept the encouragement I received to be more flexible in my work and allow motion to play a role in my images. Most important I finished the day feeling empowered as a photographer.”

“Hi, I talked with Bill Cady around 5:00, or so when my weather alarm went off
stating there was a Tornado watch for the surrounding counties, including the
one in which the class was going to take place, until 1am. I talked to Bill a
couple of times sharing my concerns. He said that I could email you and I
could then reschedule for this same class in an upcoming month. I really want
to participate in the Stone Arch class and Bill is a great instructor! Thank
you so much for accommodating for this scary weather!”

“I took your class in Minneapolis a couple years ago. I took many memorable shots that day that I have shared with many people.
I would like to have more experiences like that. I have upgraded my camera to a Canon 7D Mark ll and would love to see what I could do in another setting in a class of yours.

    Thanks!”

Thank you for your message. Indeed, I was able to locate Tony and to attend the course. I greatly enjoyed the course and learned many techniques. Tony was very helpful and knowledgeable. I attached a two of my favorite pics from the day.

Thank you again for helping me find Tony,”

“I absolutely loved my experience with Tony at the Minneapolis Farmers Market! The class was great! And Tony was very helpful. I got some awesome shots that I’m really excited about. Many beautiful colors, shapes & textures.
The rain started to come down right at 2:00. We were lucky.
Keep me in the loop when you set up more classes in my area.”

I am proud of improving my indoor photography. I learned the importance of exposure compensation and how easy it is to manipulate the light levels. As a photographer I really appreciate natural lighting.

I took the shot of the upper side of the building which look like steps going to the top, it was really cool to see. To be honest I’m not a huge photo taker of architecture. However, after taking this one shot I didn’t realize how fun and unique it can be. After looking at the picture in editing, I decided to have some more fun with it, and added a reflection in post. So you are actually looking at one object, not two.

Thank you so much for your business and Digital Photo Academy has been an absolute worth while experience. I will check the schedule regularly and plan on another class throughout the summer.

“The class I took was fun and educational. I had ample opportunities to “do my own thing” and take the pictures I wanted to take. The instructor was uber-talented and down-to-earth. It was a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.”
