Covid is a global issue and varies, city by city, even day by day, here across North America, but we want you to know that you can enroll in workshops, currently posted through the first few months of 2021 and updated into the year 2021 on a monthly basis. (Founded in 2006, this format of updating new group workshop locales, times and dates have always been handled in this same manner. Should you require a private workshop, our professional photographers who lead group sessions in the community where they live, can accommodate PRIVATE WORKSHOPS on any photo topic and meet up with you and your guests on any day of the week that suits your schedule and locale selected within our active communities.) We can conform to your priorities.

As any workshop you select approaches, please know that we will adhere to the Covid social distancing directives relevant to your local community at that time, as they apply to the coronavirus, allowing you to receive a total refund or the chance to reschedule with no penalty fee no matter how long you require to make your rescheduling decisions. Please contact us toll free, 1 877 372 2231 or email us at DPABooking@DigitalPhotoAcademy.com. Again, once we communicate, we can provide either a full refund or postpone your workshop with no deadline on selecting a new date.

IF WORKSHOP DOES RUN, MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING CONFORMS TO LOCAL DIRECTIVES

Welcome to the Atlanta market for the international network of live and online photo classes, all under the banner of Digital Photo Academy.

This section is devoted to the Atlanta community and the DPA Instructors who lead these workshops are professional photographers who have lived in Atlanta for at least 10 years, usually longer.

These pro shooters also have teaching experience and they love teaching. (Not all photographers do.) They know the local retailers where you can get the better deals on photo equipment and more importantly, they know where the best photo ops are which allows us to provide you with a rotation of interesting places to shoot, throughout the year, whether indoors or outdoors, winter, spring, summer or fall. Sometimes one time of day to shoot is better than another and our DPA instructors keep us informed.

Often, the DPA Instructors even have private access to various locales in the city where they live. Themes vary from street photography and dynamic architecture, to flowers and landscapes, as well as waterscapes, sunsets, lush scenery and everything in between.

During one month, you might be invited to rendezvous in the luxurious natural light streaming in to a religious venue via spectacular stained glass windows and the following month, it might be a small relatively unknown park with very special landscapes. This is why we offer a special ALUMNI Discount to people who attend more than one workshop.

Nationally, we organize these workshops to provide variety for the participants in each local market, but we could not do it without the expertise and connections provided by the DPA instructors in each of those markets.

Phone the national headquarters of Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231 but know that each of the Digital Photo Academy markets includes a local office. In Atlanta, that office is at:

4517 Reva Way NE Marietta, GA 30066-2361

“Just wanted you to know that I really enjoyed the 2 classes yesterday! I learned a great deal about my camera and I’m not “afraid” of it anymore. I’m sure I’ll see you in the advanced class once I familiarize myself more with what you taught us yesterday. Thanks so much.”

“I attended your beginner digital photography class instructed by Joel Silverman. I was very impressed with Joel and the content of the class. Joel was extremely accommodating, answering my numerous questions. I not only learned the technicalities of my camera, but also composition.”

  3. “I just wanted to sincerely thank you for the amazing class on this past Saturday at Piedmont Park. I really enjoyed it, and learned a lot of useful techniques for composition and also plenty about my very own camera. It’s amazing the things you ‘think’ you know until you ACTUALLY know;)

I should add that I do plan to join the photog club you gave us info on, and also plan to take another class with (you) DPA in the near future. I’m still quite amateur in the field of photography but aspire to be great one day so I want to soak in as much information and get as much practice as I possibly can. Thanks so much, again! We’ll certainly be in touch.”

I was trying to tell my husband the one thing that I learned that was most impactful, and I couldn’t come up with just one! I am going to shoot “M” from now on and I hope I get to learn from you again someday. You are an awesome instructor; felt like the class was 1 on 1. Thanks again!”

“Thank you so much, Jen! Hope to see you again, also, at one of your scheduled photo shoots! I was outside in the front yard yesterday about 4 p.m., using as much as I could remember (unfortunately, my notes were inside) from our class last Saturday…just taking lots of pictures of our new, little dogwood and serviceberry trees and a much larger, older dogwood (especially close-ups of its beautiful flowers), and our flowering pink azaleas…trying different settings, angles, etc. I think that most of them turned out well. I need to look at them online to know for sure, but I was very enthusiastic about taking the pictures and happy about almost all of them!

Jen, thank you for everything you have shared with me and taught me! You are the finest of teachers, EVER!

    Take good care.”

    – Rita

I look forward to seeing you soon in a Field Composition class.

    Take care and safe travels”

“I learned a lot on Sunday! And there’s still a ton more to learn, and to practice!

I met up with a friend afterward for lunch and took a few photos of him, and some art on the walls. He then posted that photo to Facebook and got over 100 “likes,” which he had never gotten that many “likes” before. It made me feel good!

Hope you’re having a GREAT week!”

“I attended Ken’s composition in the field class on a cold Saturday at the Botanical Gardens here in Atlanta. Ken was there ready to go despite the weather and stayed until he had answered all questions from the students. I have been working on shooting manual instead of automatic and he really helped with tips on the best way to do that.”

    Thanks for the help Ken,

    -Greg McFarland

“Just a quick note to let you and others know what a great experience I had today during Stan’s photographic tutorial. I received 3 hours of 1:1 instruction from the functions of my camera and how to apply them in various compositions, settings and environments to tips and best practices of photography.

Stan took the time and attention to instruct based on my level of experience with the art as well as my familiarity of the equipment. I learned more in 3 hours than I have since purchasing my camera.

Thanks to Stan and Digital Photo Academy—I would recommend to anyone.”

“I attended a class with photographer Ken Ross a few weeks ago. Ken was a fantastic teacher. We were on location at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. While there, Ken explained depth of field, f stop, aperture, etc. He took time with each student answering all questions, no matter how entry level, with a positive gracious attitude. He was very informative and I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He pushed us to think beyond the norm, and to develop our eye as photographers. He gave us new ways to look at the subject, and helped us expand our creativity. I look forward to taking more classes with Ken in the future.”

    “Hello Elton,

Thank you so much for your time and instruction yesterday. Thank you also for braving the cold weather. I learned a lot that can be used for better photography. SPS will be visited after the holidays. I think there’s a lot that can be learned and hopefully, I have something to be shared with other photographers.

I seem to have gravitated mostly toward the leading lines and rule of thirds. An ND filter will be applied to see if the ghosts can be “run off” on the low light/longer exposures. That tip is greatly appreciated.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.”

“Wow, Ken, I’m very grateful for the good feedback you sent me on my photos. I never expected you to take the time to tweak them or comment on each one. Thanks so much for the time you invested in our class and for these very helpful suggestions with examples! This is awesome. I’m not confident using brushes in LR, but I will definitely work to that end, now that I have seen the improvements that you applied with brushes. I’ll be researching more about how to apply these effects and then work at practicing in LR.

    AGAIN, many thanks!”
