Both Tranquility Park and Hermann Square are both having significant construction/repair work done on them, but not to worry, we have plenty of other interesting places to photograph nearby. Just a couple of blocks west of them is Sam Houston Park, the largest downtown park after Discovery Green. You’ll see it on the left side of the map. It features a collection of some of Houston’s more historic homes (saved from the wrecking ball) along with statuary, a pond and fountains. And there are several nearby areas of interest for photographers.
