Torpedo Factory Art Center

The Torpedo Factory is an ideal photo op, whether environmental portraits of artists and their work, the way-out design of the interior space with a dramatic spiral staircase as well as the many photo ops just outside the Torpedo Factory, including the use of the Washington Monument as a backdrop element. WIth boat docked and pedestrians everywhere street photography can be an inspirational focus. The U.S. Naval Torpedo Station originally was established just at the close of WWI, November, 1918, so vintage architecture photos are also there for the taking. For 5 years torpedos were built there but then the facility was used to store munition until the onset of WWII, with 10 more buildings by then, and the production of submarines and aircrafts equipped with torpedo launching features. A bright green example of a torpedo is on public display and can be used to accessorize portraits or is a photo op in and of itself. Your instructor will offer advice on Aperture Priority photography as well as tricks to accommodate the ambient indoor lighting.

Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number.  It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering.  If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at [email protected] or [email protected].
