Sunset at the Santa Monica Pier is a playground for photo enthusiasts. Each evening, the sky explodes in layers of orange, pink, and purple, all rippling against the ocean tides. During this special time of day, your Digital Photo Academy Instructor will guide you with tips on capturing these transient moments, and ensure you take home photos that are portfolio-worthy. After the sun sets there will also be lessons we call “Painting With Light,” a method of photography in the darker hours that relies on long exposures to render quasi-psychedelic streaks in the images you make. Part serendipity, part camera control, the effects of this technique are whimsical and fun to learn.
