The Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the most spectacular constructions in Colorado. A beautiful combination of nature and man-made material, the Amphitheatre is the perfect destination for hiking, theater-watching, and especially for photography. Join your Digital Photo Academy instructor for a breath-taking excursion through wildlife and the arts.

In the field, you will shoot gorgeous landscapes of towering mountains, simple greenery, and vibrant red rocks. These elements in nature together with the winding amphitheatre provide beautiful scenery and interesting angles.

Your instructor will introduce you to new techniques and ideas that can apply to the shoot and to your own personal projects. Use the grooves in the rock as leading lines to draw your viewers’ eyes towards a focal point, watch the mountains fade into the distance through your lens, and try new angles to combine nature with man-made materials.

Please bring your DSLR or another type of digital camera that you use, a fully-charged battery, and the equipment that you can carry. You should dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Please be aware that the address provided below is simply the general area of Red Rocks. We are meeting at the visitor center which is at the top of the amphitheater. NOT the visitor center which is down the road. We will meet outside the door at the top of the amphitheater, NOT inside the building, NOT on the lower level.
