Lambert’s Castle and Tower

[smartslider3 slider=153]

Lambert Castle is one of the most well-known landmarks in northern New Jersey. It is located on Garret Mountain and overlooks the city of Paterson. Originally built in 1892 as a private residence, it was fashioned in the style of an English castle.

The castle was sold to the city of Paterson in 1925, and became a part of the 575 acre Garret Mountain Reservation. It currently houses a library and historical museum. This grand building is full of detail and character, and is a great subject for architectural photography.

Lambert Castle is a powerful building set in a stunning landscape. Capture the grandeur of the castle and its surrounding grounds while improving your compositional photography skills. Experiment with different camera angles – the angle at which the camera lens is tilted can make or break your final image.

Take photos from any and every angle. As you gain experience, great shots will present themselves. Use one of the castle’s arches as a tool to create a natural frame within your image. The result will be a more focused photograph that draws the eye to your main point of interest.

Please bring your digital camera and any other photographic equipment you would like to use. Please dress for the weather and wear your most comfortable shoes.

Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number.  It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering.  If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at [email protected] or [email protected].
