Join your DPA Instructor at and around the Guthrie Theater for a study in perspective, indoors and out. From the outer structure and its completion of nearby silos and warehouses along the Mississippi, to the interiors with panoramic views and ambient lighting that will enhance the creative eye, this shoot offers a full variety of portfolio-worthy possibilities.

The Guthrie Theater, first constructed in 1963, as a collaborative project by architect Ralph Raspon and British Theater Director, Tyrone Guthrie symbolized a protest to the commercialization of the commercialized Broadway theater at the time. Remodeled at the onset of this century, by architect Jean Nouvel, the gleaming blue building, with smooth circular and vertical lines, allows each of the 1100 audience members within 15 of proximity of the stage.

Your DPA Instructor well versed in all shooting aspects of the metal and glass, inside and outside of The Guthrie will share his insights for the day. Learn the  tips and techniques of capturing indoor settings of human silhouettes within warm red and cool blue hues against windows that reveal the Great Mississippi as well as the mighty power plant on the other side of the river.

The gigantic exterior portraits of Tyrone Guthrie, Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams and other literary greats to create a powerful backdrop for your portraits. Each section of the building, offers a different visual plane with which to work, from the escalator, to the cafe and the theater itself.

Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number.  It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering.  If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at DPAbooking@digitalphotoacademy.com.
