City Park, the largest and most significant park in Denver, is a beautiful display of urban park and residential neighborhood. Highlighted by the mountains and home to both skyscrapers and rosebushes, City Park is a truly unique atmosphere and a perfect venue for urban/natural photography. Join your Digital Photo Academy instructors Mark Osler and Dan Jahn for a journey through these different worlds.
In City Park, you will shoot a wide array of subjects and experiment with a variety of compositions. Use a wide-angle lens to shoot a landscape of the park with a mountain background and try a macro lens to get inside of a flower or a bed of grass. Shoot Denver’s municipal buildings in the distance, the colorful flora and animals that inhabit the park, and the reflection of a skyscraper in a pool of water surrounded by greenery.
Your DPA Instructor will teach you important composition tools that will apply to any subject and venue that you shoot in the future. Use a slow shutter speed to show a bicyclist whizzing by, try a shallow depth of field to highlight a flower and blur the grassy background, and learn how to get up close and personal with your subjects while still getting a clear image.
We will meet outside of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, on the steps, before heading out into the park together. The museum is located at 2001 Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80205. Please bring your DSLR or another type of digital camera that you use, a fully-charged battery, and the equipment that you can carry. You should dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number. It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering. If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at DPAbooking@digitalphotoacademy.com or Richard@digitalphotoacademy.com.
