Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive offers a myriad of landscape, wildlife, floral, waterscape, as well as glorious sun and sky shots. Wildlife routinely seen include numerous American alligators, turtles, river otters, bobcats and coyotes. Learn how to catch a compelling pose close up or a broader shot which defines the animal within its environs.

Besides the numerous wildlife encounters, there are plenty of landscape and nature photography ops available as there are several natural ecosystems on the drive. The entire drive is an 11 mile road that can be driven to view all of nature’s splendor. Treat yourself to this unique opportunity! Work with available light to illuminate your subject and highlight it against a painterly blurred backdrop.

And don’t forget the extraordinary bird-watching opportunities. It is one of the top three birding areas for the entire state (includes Everglades National Park and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge). Depending on the time of year the unending array of birds ranges from showy herons and egrets to numerous tiny warblers and flycatchers. The bird list (2014) continues to grow and includes 362 species. Your instructor will share tips and logistical strategies to catch these creatures in flight, perched on branches, amidst the reeds by the water, head on and profiles as well.

Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number.  It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering.  If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at [email protected].
