The central section of the mall is home to the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Tidal Basin, Roosevelt Memorial, and World War II Memorial and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. This section of the Mall is also where the largest concentration of Cherry Trees is located in Washington, DC. This is the largest grouping of monuments and memorials on the mall so wear some comfortable walking shoes and lets go photograph some cherry blossoms and monuments.
Getting great images of the Washington Monument can be a challenge because of its height and shape. Learn ways to give your images balance when you are presented with an element that is either very tall and thin or very short and wide.
You will often come across situations that have extreme contrast from very dark to very light, all in the same scene. Learn how to expose your images to get the tonal range you want in your final image.
The places we will visit are photographed everyday by hundreds of people. Enjoy a walk through these great places and get some photographic tips that will help you create images you will be proud of.
Please be sure to charge your battery before coming to class and bring a spare battery if you have one. Comfortable walking shoes will make the walk much more pleasant and be sure to dress for the weather.

Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number. It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering. If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at [email protected].
